Comparing two preschools on the monthly fee is the fastest way to make a wrong decision. Two schools advertising similar numbers can differ by thirty or forty per cent once a full year is added up, because the difference almost always hides in the things nobody lists on the board outside.
The number that matters is the annual one
Ask each school to write down, on paper, everything you will pay between the first day and the last day of the session. That total - not the monthly figure - is the number to compare. It usually includes:
- Admission or registration fee (often one-time)
- Monthly or quarterly tuition
- Annual or term charges
- Transport, if you need it
- Meals or snacks, if provided
- Uniform and materials, if bought through the school
- Activity, event or festival charges
- Books and stationery
- Any refundable deposit
A school with a low monthly fee and large "annual" and "activity" charges is not necessarily expensive or dishonest - but you deserve to see the whole picture before you commit, not in month three.
Where Sanskaar Kids Valley sits
To be straightforward about our own numbers: Sanskaar Kids Valley lists monthly fees in the range of 1,500 to 2,000 rupees, depending on the program and the child's age. The exact figure is confirmed by the school team at the time of admission, because it depends on which program your child joins. If you want the accurate number for your child, the quickest route is a call or WhatsApp to 9990280330 with your child's age, or an enquiry through the Admissions page.
One honest note about comparing: fees vary quite a bit across Palam, Dwarka, Pochanpur, Narela and the surrounding colonies, and a higher fee does not automatically mean a better school. What the fee buys matters far more than its size.
Nine questions that reveal the real cost
- What is the total payable in the first month, including everything?
- What is the total across the whole session?
- Is the fee monthly or quarterly, and is there a discount for paying in advance?
- What is the late fee, and how many days of grace are there?
- Is transport included or separate, and what is the charge for my area?
- Are meals or snacks provided, and is that in the fee or extra?
- Is the uniform or any material bought from the school, and at what price?
- Are there activity, event, festival or annual-day charges during the year?
- What is the refund or withdrawal policy, and how much notice is required?
Write the answers down. If a figure is "we will tell you later", that is not an answer, and it is worth asking again before you pay anything.
What you are actually paying for
Once the numbers are on the table, judge them against what the fee buys. In the early years, these are the things that matter:
- How many children per adult. Smaller groups cost more to run and are the single clearest driver of individual attention. Ask the ratio for your child's exact class, and whether an assistant is present all day.
- How long teachers stay. A stable team is worth paying for. Ask how long the class teacher has been with the school.
- Communication with parents. How often will you hear about your child, and through what - a diary, an app, a meeting?
- Space and hygiene. A clean washroom, a safe outdoor area and clean drinking water are not luxuries.
- Materials that get used. Art supplies, dough, sand, blocks and books that look genuinely used tell you the fee is going into the children's day.
- A settling-in plan for new children. Shorter days in the first week, and a teacher who reports honestly on how your child is doing. This is real work and it is worth paying for.
How to get the best value for your situation
- Choose on commute, not only on price. Twenty minutes saved each way is forty minutes a day, ten hours a month, back in your child's day.
- Ask for the annual total in writing, then compare like for like.
- Ask about sibling concessions if you have two children.
- Ask about the day care option if both parents work - one place for both halves of the day is usually cheaper and gentler than two. See Day Care vs Preschool.
- Do not pay a year in advance to a school you have not visited. Visit first. Always.
Red flags
- Charges that appear only after admission
- No written fee schedule, or refusal to give the annual total
- Heavy pressure to pay a large non-refundable amount the same day
- A fee that is unusually low alongside unusually large groups, or a fee that is unusually high alongside a thin, obviously stretched staff
- Vague answers about who looks after the children and for how many hours
To get the exact figure for your child at Sanskaar Kids Valley, call or WhatsApp 9990280330 with your child's age, or start with the Admissions page and the programs page. We would rather give you the number than have you guess.
